Im 20 & tanning obsessedI use nasal sprays, sunbeds & creams - trolls slam me & say I'll be 'h

A 20-YEAR-OLD has revealed that she is tanning obsessed and uses nasal sprays, sunbeds and tanning creams to get her golden glow.

Despite the dangers and risks involved with such tanning practices, the young woman recently took to social media to share her tanning routine.

Posting on TikTok, Liv Mitchell (@liv.mitchell_x) shared her she gets her faux glow - but at the same time, explained that she isn’t promoting sunbeds.

In a recent clip, which the influencer posted with the caption ‘not promoting sunbeds but this is my routine. I do not advise anyone to use them!!’, we saw how Liv gets her skin darker, without needing to go abroad.

At the start of the clip, we saw Liv sitting in her car, as she prepared for her sunbed and said: “Sunbed time.”

Wearing a pink crop top, she used a nasal spray before heading into the sunbed shop to get her glow.

Nasal sprays, when inhaled, can lead to a temporary darkening of your skin.

Nasal sprays' main active ingredient is melanotan, which helps drive the process of pigmentation production.

She then headed for her sunbed, but prior this, Liv rubbed a tanning cream on her legs to further maximise the effect of the sunbed.

She then set the lay-down sunbed to ten minutes and got inside.

Shortly after she filmed her leg in the sunbed and at the end of the clip, she moved her knickers to show off her impressive tan line.

Her clip has clearly shocked many, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 287.6k views.

It has 13.6k likes, 94 comments and 19 shares.

But social media users were left in shock at the young woman’s clip and many were eager to point out the dangers of such a tanning routine.

One person said: “If you don’t promote them, why are you posting a video about them? Sun beds are awful - high risk of developing cancer and premature ageing.”

Another added: “Just use fake tan. Not worth risking yourself for a higher chance of cancer/ ageing!”

A third commented: “I really wish people would stop using these because they are so dangerous!”

A fourth explained: “You'll regret the sunbeds when you age, I guarantee!”

Whilst someone else noted: “Your skin will be haggard in your 30s.”

At the same time, many social media users were quick to inform Liv about the dangers of nasal sprays.

One beauty fan posted: “See the thing you put up your nose, I got told that’s dangerous.”

Whilst another chimed in: “Be careful with the nasal spray gal, I've heard a lot of negative things about those.”

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), sunbeds are as dangerous as smoking.

Like the sun, they give out harmful UV rays that damage the DNA in your skin cells.

Over time, this may lead to malignant melanoma - the deadliest form of skin cancer - studies have shown.

According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), there is significant evidence to show that using tanning beds causes melanoma.

They report that sunbeds increase the risk of skin cancer by up to 20 per cent, and also state that they have no positive benefits to our health.

Cancer Research back this statistic, adding that " there is no such thing as a safe tan from UV radiation".

When it comes to nasal sprays, some nasal spray sellers insist their products are safe - but the British Association of Dermatologists' Dr Catherine Borysiewicz says the only safe tan is fake tan.

She said: These products have not been studied properly, you don’t know what you are using, that’s the bottom line.

"These products are very, very dangerous . They can potentially lead to cancer.

"I talk about the skin risks, but who knows what else it might be doing. It’s incredibly worrying.

"If you’re using Melanotan, stop. Don’t use it any more and really importantly make sure your skin is assessed and checked.

"Be honest with the doctors that you’re seeing so they’re aware of the potential risks you may have been exposed to so your moles can be properly checked and analysed if needed."
